Meet Bar Leon: Bar & Creative space (for parties, pop-up shops, meetings or knitting clubs).
Bar Leon is the perfect extension to your living room: hang out with friends at the bar, leave the kids at the drawing table or take place at the typical “brown café” tables (brown cafés are to Belgium what pubs are to London). There’s also a nice terrace at the newly renovated “Krugerplein”, keep that in mind when you’re looking for a sunshine spot in the summer.
It’s a bar...
Order one of the usual suspects (coffee, tea, wine, soda) or take advantage of the fact that they (1) serve draft La Chouffe & Gageleer (two typical Belgian beers) and (2) have excellent juices on the menu: they are local, bio, come in many shapes (berries, apple, etc) and are my personal favourite.
All that drinking is making you hungry? Good news: Bar Leon also serves breakfast on Sunday and has a small menu (now there were two dishes to choose from) ready for you two days of the week. Of course you can always calm your appetite with nachos + salsa as well.
... and something more.
There are many levels to this bar (literally and figuratively speaking) and on irregular occasions (keep an eye on their Facebook page!) you can find art expositions or small pop-up shops on the first floor: the ideal way to get in touch with local talent in a no-nonsense atmosphere.
