Exhibit of the Masters in Fine Arts' graduates of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
Johan Pas, dean of the Royal Academy: "On the Passage of a Few Persons through a Rather brief Moment in Time. Exactly 60 years ago, French writer and filmmaker Guy Debord (1931-1994) made a short documentary film with this title. You will find it online. Please have a look at it after you have read these lines. It will only take twenty minutes of your time. The film expresses the hopes & despairs of a group of young revolutionary artists and thinkers in Paris in the early 1950s. It combines poetics and politics. I believe it still makes a lot of sense today. The title is also perfectly suited for the work by some eighty emerging artists and designers. They all studied for one or more years at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. They came, they met, they created, they failed, and they created again. They learned from each other, from the school, from art, and mostly from life. They passed through the brief time frame of the Antwerp Academy to find their own path".
